These days more and more people become more conscious about their health, diet, and environment. More people turn WFPB (Whole Foods Plant-Based), vegan, vegetarian, flexitarian or just eat less junk food. More people workout. More people are desperately looking for information because they want to do it right. As someone who just recently started this journey (I started my transformation about 4 years ago, going full-time WFPB about 2 years ago - read my “How to become an alien” post), I’m very familiar with hurdles you are facing. Yes, there is plenty of information on the internet, just Google it, right? Well, not exactly. Here are some serious challenges you are going to face:
Lot’s of confusing and sometimes inaccurate information. There are not-so-many expert sources and they are not very inclusive. Most people just share their experiences, which is great and I totally support it, but there is no scientific analysis involved so results aren’t always reliable.
There is no one source that provides you all the answers, or even just comprehensive enough. You have to use multiple uncorrelated sources, frequently you just don’t know what parts and pieces you might be missing.
Information is not tailored to your needs. People are different. Different age, different lifestyle, different levels and types of activity, just to name a few. Why is it so important? Because your body has very different needs from every perspective based on those things. Different caloric intake, different macro composition, sometimes different vitamins or supplements and physical activity profile.
I know how hard it is.
I have been there.
I’m still learning and exploring, but topics of my research now are way more advanced. I have definitely sorted out, let’s say (using sports jargon) novice, beginner and intermediate levels. This is why I want to help. This is why I decided to build a comprehensive information portal for diet, exercise, supplementation, longevity and natural lifestyle (BeHealthyVegan).
It takes time to build a comprehensive and still easy to navigate website. In the meantime, I decided to start this blog. I believe it will be beneficial even when the portal is up and running. I will do my best to make it entertaining and educational at the same time.
